14-21 June 2008: Elks' Children & Guest Summer Camp in Hattiesburg - (Ages 8-14) - 7 days with meals - $85 for Members; $95 for Non-Members - $5 for a kids Camp T-Shirt - Registration Form   . Director: Patricia Russell, 662-624-5736 or 662-302-1737 (cell).

6-10 July 2008, the Grand Lodge Convention will be held Anaheim, CA. All room reservations must be made through the State Secretary, Mr. Jackie Russell.

4-5 October 2008: State Ritual Clinic at Hattiesburg Lodge #599. Exact schedule and times to follow at a later date. Will be conducted by Grand Lodge Area 3 Representaive and will cover many things including proper opening and closing of Lodge meetings, changes to initiatory ritual, etc., as well as certifying judges. All current Elks are encouraged to attend.

Don Smith passed away on 10 February 2008. The arrangements are being handled by Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS (228) 875-1266. Visitation, with an Elks Memorial Service at 6:30 PM, will be held Wednesday, 13 February 2008 from 6 until 8:00 PM at the Ocean Springs Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, 14 February at 10:30 AM at at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 2755 Bienville Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS. A private interment service will be held at a later time.
